Everyone has that one garment that seems to have everything: Extremely comfortable, fits you just right, the colour looks brilliant on you and you feel held just by wearing it. Why isn’t your whole wardrobe like that? We were wondering the same thing!

So, we set to work. We don’t want to brag, but we really left nothing laying on the table when we redesigned the clothes. We took it personal.

We took out our monocles, hired the best pattern designers, scouted all the innovative, sustainable technologies and holed up in our atelier. Only to come out after all was done. Exhausted, hungry and unwashed, but satisfied and extremely proud with the result: our gloves, mask, scarf and long sleeve.

The fabric, the looming of the yarn, the stitching, the pattern, the dye. Soft seams, no labels. All that, so our products are kind for your skin and REALLY look good while doing so.

In our relentless hunt for optimising skin care clothes we uncovered Lyocell. Lyocell (or Tencel as a branded name) is an all natural and pure cellulose textile fiber without any impurities, creating beautifully smooth and soft fabric, reducing  friction on your skin.

Plus, it also does this:

  • Absorbs 50% more moisture than cotton whilst remaining dry on the surface
  • Cool and dry, feeling cooler than cotton
  • Repels bacteria growth
  • Excellent washing performance at 60 or 90 degrees
  • Environmentally friendly production and closed loop process

Confession time: We don’t believe cotton is the best possible textile to take care of your sensitive skin. True, it doesn’t trigger allergies, but it doesn’t help either. Bacteria can still grow on cotton, and the fibers are not as round and soft as could be. Just look at this:

We also don’t believe organic cotton is all that when it comes to sustainability. It needs a lot of valuable and fertile farmland for one. It also needs a LOT of clean water in areas where clean water is scarce. (Egypt, China and many more).

  • 77.8% say that TENCEL®is more pleasant to wear than cotton
  • 59% prefer TENCEL®due to its smoothness in comparison to cotton
  • 92 % say that they would like to wear TENCEL®clothing during the day
  • 48% scratch less
  • 88.2% say that the TENCEL®suit has a cooling effect in summer

Not that we’re pushy, but really: swap all the cotton in your wardrobe for Tencel (or lyocell as an unbranded name). Your skin and the climate will thank you for it.
